Weekly Greenhouse Tasks
By admin | September 3, 2007
I have decided to post a weekly greenhouse to do list at the beginning of each week. I’m sure I won’t list everything we’re doing but I’ll try to hit a few of the highlights for each week.
Week 36:
- Follow up fungicide drench for poinsettia crops (it’s been about 4 weeks since the last one). I will not drench the poinsettias we treated with Rootshield as the label state that it will last 8-12 weeks (I think).
- Start to prespace 6.5 inch poinsettias. They are almost ready for final spacing but I want to create a V-shaped plant so I will wait a bit longer.
- Start pinching 4 inch poinsettias. They should be ready by the end of the week.
- Respace 10 inch and 8 inch poinsettias. They have outgrown their initial spacing and now I can put them in their final location and I may put the cages on them as well if they are ready.
- Continue graphical tracking and apply Cycocel if needed. I am sure that a couple of varieties are ready to be sprayed again.
- Send out tissue and media samples for poinsettia crop.
My list always grows from one day to the next so I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to do.
