Biological Control: Update
By admin | September 3, 2007
Well it’s been about 3 weeks since I released our predatory insects and we are starting to see some results. When I released the Orius the thrips populations were starting to increase quickly. Over the next 2 weeks, our populations increased a bit more in the first week and then remained stable in the second week. After completing our pest counts this week, we have cut the population in half and I am feeling pretty good about this biological control method so far. I can’t wait to see what the counts look like this coming week.
