Garden Mums: Shipping ‘em out

By admin | August 31, 2007

We have finally started to ship some garden mums and I am glad to see them on a cart and on their way out.  Overall, our quality is good, our size is right for the 8 inch and they have a great round shape.  We need to review our varieties and timing a bit to stagger our availability of various colors.  Some varieties are not working for us and need to be eliminated from our production or we planted much earlier.  So far so good.

Awesome! How early are you planting the successful ones? How early do you think you’ll need to plant the others to make them successful next year? And how much do you charge per 8″?

We planted all our 8 inch on Jume 28th so the ones that turned out great we won’t change. I must tweak the scheduling for the earlier varieties and I will eliminate a few varieties that aren’t vigorous enough for larger pot sizes. Our prices vary between customers and volume but I’ll leave it at that. You could always email me for a price list.
