Poinsettia IPM: Whitefly Control
By admin | August 23, 2007
So it’s time to start thinking about what I will use for whitefly control this year. Actually, I’ve been thinking about it for a while now and I think I’ll try to use a spray program this year instead of a systemic imidaclorprid drench. I’ve always drenched my poinsettias with Marathon or in recent years with Safari so this will be something new. I have gathered enough feedback from other growers that I think a spray program with Safari will be as effective and less expensive than the usual drench.
And if it can kill Whiteflies this big then I won’t have any problems.
What Whitefly control methods are other growers using?
Does anyone have experience using biological control of Whitefly?
