Super Floral and OFA

By admin | June 11, 2007

So the Super Floral Show starts in Columbus, Ohio this week.  I have never attended this large industry event but I will have the opportunity to experience it on Wednesday.  I really don’t know what to expect from the show but I’ll be with some experienced people in our industry and I’m sure they’ll show me around.  Also in Columbus is the OFA Short Course, our annual gathering of everyone and everything in the world of U.S. floriculture.  I am trying to decide what classes to attend or workshops to sign up for.   I always enjoy walking the trade show floor and attending as many interesting and educational seminars as I can.  I have attended 4 or 5 Short Courses over the last several years and each time I go, I struggle to see everything I want to and never attend all the seminars I plan to.  Perhaps it’s the late nights or maybe there just too much to do in 3-4 days.  Regardless, the best part of the Short Course is the opportunity to network with industry peers and relax a bit after a long spring.  My advice is to have a plan when you arrive and be prepared to go with the flow, especially once the trade show is closing.  Oh yeah, and always book your rooms at the Hyatt.  That way you’ll be close to the Big Bar on 2, and you won’t have to go far to get to your room at the end of a long day/night.

I hope you enjoy the Super Floral Show. If you get a chance, introduce yourself to us at the 2007 OFA Short Course. We are located in booth 2315. I’m definitely interested in hearing more about your ideas for the ‘Ask A Grower’ blog!
